Crypt Stalker is full of those nail-biting, heart-pounding, stress-inducing gameplay moments where no one knew what an analog device was and you couldn’t regain health by hiding behind a wall. (Instead, it was made by eating chicken found in a brick wall!) If you want to relive those golden moments in video games, then this game might be for you. Time travel may not exist today, but we hope this game takes you back in time, where somehow birds cause massive damage. Your task is to fight through nine action-packed stages, packed with demons that you’ll have to kill with your trusty cybernetic whip (or destroy them with your gun, your choice). However, it doesn’t end there, within these worlds there are dangers that you will have to overcome, from raising hot magma to walls that crush you. And after you’ve managed to survive to the end, defeating the evil demon lord, you’ll have to do it all again, but in glorious monochrome handheld mode. (This mode contains four brand new levels to test your skills.) There are also some extras included, like challenges, a boss race, and that otherworldly “sound test” mode you only see in old retro games.
