CounterAttack: Uprising is a scrolling space shooter (SHMUP/STG) with deep customization, 4-player local co-op, a custom campaign and level editor, and cross-platform online co-op play for up to 8 players.
Earth is under attack! The Automations, creation of humanity itself, have rebelled. They will stop at nothing less than the complete annihilation of their former masters. There is only one hope: the Experimental Space Fighter program. Fight alone or team up for intense cooperative action, 1-4 players locally or 2-8 players online, unlock upgrades, use powerful ultimate abilities, upgrade your ship however you want, and save the Earth from annihilation.
- Cross-platform online CO-OP for 8 players and local CO-OP for 4 players: All levels, modes, leaderboards and difficulties are available in CO-OP. Use support accessories to work together or set up free-for-all power-ups and get them before anyone else. Use auras and support accessories to help your friends, or focus only on damage and blast your way through. If you die, you become a turret on a surviving ship to continue shooting.
- Create new weapons to destroy the automatons: over 600 accessories including engine turbos, support fighters, auras, weapon replacements, attack drones, weapon modifiers, shields, evasion, critical hit changes and more. Weapons can be combined to create new and unique abilities. Millions of combinations with some powerful (and sometimes wacky) effects! Go for all the followers and turrets, or build weapons that pack a killing blow. Show off your creations in the workshop or try one created by someone else!
- Choose from 8 pilots with unique innate and ultimate abilities: Each pilot has a unique ship, ultimate weapon, and innate ability. Ayumi has the ultimate Tactical Skill of Analysis and Nukes, Biff has the ultimate skill of Big Biff Laser and Big Boy, Marcus has the ultimate skill of Mesonwave and Meson Blades, Joe has the ultimate skill of Overcharge and Action Joe, Sarah has the ultimate skill of the Quantium Shield and the Survivor skill, Sloane has the ultimate skill of the Fighter Squadron and a Sloane Aura skill, Carl has the ultimate skill of Plasma Strike and Rocker, Jinx has the ultimate skill of Hack Wave and Autorekt.
- Fight your way through a branching campaign of 32 levels and 3 infinite survival modes: 31 bosses (32 if you count the sun). Branched campaign, 4 difficulties, 3 modes, from beginners to veterans. Easy to learn, difficult to master.
- Level Editor and Campaign Editor – Check out the workshop for the latest player-created campaigns and levels, or create your own! Custom levels unlock attachments so you don’t have to work through the base game to unlock attachments (although the unlock rate is lower in custom levels).
