Dark Matter is a 2.5D side-scrolling survival horror game set on an abandoned spaceship besieged by a sinister alien presence and infested with deadly parasites. As an Ensign, you must explore fetid corridors and abandoned facilities, searching for parts and blueprints, expanding your arsenal up to four deadly weapons and freely customizing each one to fit your combat style against intelligent and reactive enemies. Dark Matter offers a hard-hitting take on the deep space survival horror genre, with a heavy emphasis on tactical combat and exploration. Breathless, you run towards the door, hitting its cold metal surface. The snap of scuttling claws recedes into the distance, swallowed by the pitch-black oblivion behind you. You know you shouldn’t feel safe. There are too many infested behind you and another blank metal door in front of you. With a quick reflex, you check your ammo supplies and pop a fresh clip into your shotgun. With a quicker prayer, you flip the switch and open the door. The metal maw opens into an endless night that you do not dare to pierce with your flashlight, so as not to disturb those things that live in the shadows. Through the pale bioluminescence that emerges from the floor grids, the image of a corridor and what could be a stretch of exploding capsules can be reconstructed.
