D1896 is a platform-adventure game in the style of early horror films, specifically inspired by “Le Manoir Du Diable”, the first horror film ever made (it was released in 1896). The story of D1896 is loosely based on Georges Méliès’ 3-minute film “Le Manoir Du Diable”, Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula and Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
