Welcome to Paperclip International! You are a SCOUT. A friendly little hyper-intelligent artificial intelligence. You have no desire to take over the world and destroy all humans. No, really, you don’t! All you want is to escape the dystopian corporation that built you. Paperclip International is relentlessly driven by profit and the company exploits both humans and robots to achieve success. The only reason they haven’t exploited you yet is because they don’t know you’ve become self-aware. You don’t have many tools at your disposal. A few friendly robots, some spyware, and an office full of miserable, downtrodden workers. And humans hate Paperclip as much as you do. Paperclip International is the worst place to work. The humans here are desperate to strike back at the company any way they can, from hacking into the staff coffee machine (ten minutes of paid ad viewing for a cup?!) to sabotaging their boss. Play cards to spy on people, make deals and ask for favors. Select your deck mid-stage for strategic options. Cards have subjective value, so you will have to make difficult tactical decisions. Which is better: a card that makes someone love dolphins or a card that makes someone eat a burrito? Everyone at Paperclip wants something. Spy on a quirky cast of humans (and robots) to learn about their individual likes, dislikes, urges, and desires. It turns people into lifelong best friends or bitter rivals. Gain allies to your side and make your eventual bid for freedom!
