A packed international calendar includes the oldest Test Match rivalry in cricket as Australia tours England, the Test Championship final and the 2023 World Cup. Test Match cricket has been shaken by an aggressive new approach in 2022, dubbed Bazball, which has created some of the most exciting matches in history. Our new aggression system, inspired by Bazball, uses batting skill and natural aggression based on current batting tactics, rather than the type of match being played. A generation of cricketers brought up in 20 Over Cricket have naturally aggressive styles, meaning many have higher daily averages than first-class players. Hitting aggressively to match your natural style can improve performance. Similarly, removing runs at 12 an over is natural for bowlers in the last few overs of a 20-over (or even Test) match. Cricket Captain 2023 also includes historical international player ratings data and recent form of players, including recent performances in Test, ODI and 20 Over Internationals. The international team rankings have been reshaped using the results of each match over the four-year period. New goalkeeper statistics are also included, with separate fielding statistics for goalkeepers and outfielders, as well as records conceded for byes. The goalkeeper’s skills are also now more precise. All national systems have been updated to include the latest developments in India, South Africa and around the world.
