To stay one step ahead of your pursuers you’ll need three things: a ship to match, a solid crew, and a contract or two. The ship you stole. It’s a tattered old Rig that has seen better days, but it’s all you have. Upgrade your ship to extend its range, reach new locations, and turn it from a hut into a home. Your crew starts with Serafin, your escape partner and a rock-solid pilot. But you’ll need scrappers, engineers, and all kinds of people to do the work that will keep you flying. From temporary contractors to Rig’s new residents, each of these characters has their own story, skills, and problems. Choose carefully. Contracts are made far from the bars and shops of the Belt’s many nerve centers. Each of these high-risk jobs has its own challenges. From exploring treacherous derelicts and risky heists to surveying asteroids and repairing ships, you’ll need to make the most of your skills, crew, and resources to complete the contract and receive payment.
- Shortly after escaping your corporate overlords, you fell under the control of a local criminal gang and its leader, Laine. Now, after a desperate attempt to free yourself from servitude by rewriting the code that governs your system, you are on the run again, this time with a malfunctioning body, a price on your head, and no memories of your past.
- Each character class now has a unique, upgradable and customizable “push” ability that can help you turn the tide on a difficult job or send you down a dangerous spiral depending on how and when you choose to use it. Reroll the dice to change your destiny or focus a single die to bet it all on a big success. Each class offers different tactical possibilities.

- Starward Belt offers a larger and more varied world than the original game. Instead of living in a single station, you will chart a course from one center to another with complete freedom, taking on jobs and setting goals as you see fit. The Belt, a living world, rewards curiosity and care, but it’s up to you to decide which places and stories are worth your time and resources.
- Player choice is a huge part of the Citizen Sleeper experience, and the sequel deepens it with new skill tests that allow you to express your class and character in cutscenes, as well as branching stories that ask you to make difficult decisions. The future of your character depends on you.
