CATO: Buttered Cat is an adorable puzzle-platformer, inspired by the buttered cat paradox meme: cats always land on their feet and toast always lands buttered side down. By tying a piece of buttered toast to a cat’s back, a paradox is created that results in an infinitely spinning, floating butter cat perpetual motion machine.
The game revolves around the two main characters, “Cat” and “Buttered Toast”. You will need to use the interactions between them to solve various puzzles in each level of the game. The full game features over 140 main levels and over 60 side levels. There are also hidden rooms, challenging boss battles, and fun mini-games. The full version will include an outfit system, with over 30 Cat and Toast skins waiting for you to collect!
- Control the cat as it runs from left to right, climbs, scratches and even slides down pipes. Hey! Cats are liquid!
- Guide the toast meanwhile with the cat, while the toasts jump like projectiles. Press and hold and turn on, and the toast will jump further!
- When the two combine, they can trigger the paradox, taking the cat to unreachable places!
CATO will take you on a challenging adventure, exploring five different worlds, each filled with unique gadgets.
From toaster (toast: NO!!) to buttered trampolines and speed-increasing space tubes (Cat: Meow!!). Along the way, the two will also meet some mysterious companions who will help them with the puzzles.
The game is about puzzles, with some action elements. You don’t need to do difficult platforming most of the time; Just focus on solving the puzzles. However, some annoying enemies will get in your way during the adventure. Your skills will help you defeat them.
As you progress through the adventure, you will also unlock various mini-games. Once collected, you can install them on the game console in your little hideaway, allowing you to play them at any time.
In the world of CATO: Buttered Cat, there are many hidden rooms that can only be accessed through secret passages. Here you can find Easter eggs from other worlds and mysterious objects. Take them back to your cozy little hideaway, put on your favorite outfit, and start again!
