Unable to deal with the consequences of what happened in her hometown of Rzekiva, Amelia Morrison sets out for the city to try to pick up the pieces of what remains.
The routine of everyday life lulls her comfortably into its monotony, but no matter how much she tries to suppress it, memories of that city always resurface. Despite the pain they cause, their persistence reveals that the events that occurred in Rzekiva may not have been what they seem.
As Amelia peels back the layers, the world around her begins to spiral and she finds herself alone in the middle of it all. Trust and truth become rare goods.
Butterfly//Circuit is set in the New Federated European Economic Territory (NEFET) in the gray city of Centropol. Surveillance, resource extraction, and body surveillance are nothing more than the norm within the concrete network, but Amelia has more important things to worry about. Webs of conspiracy, hidden passages, and lost technocultures permeate the fabric of Centropol, and Morrison has to cut the threads.
As she encounters faces new and old, Amelia has to choose wisely who to trust and who to keep at a distance.
From up-and-coming solo developer WireWARE with guidance from MVU, Butterfly//Circuit is a cyber-gothic kinetic visual novel featuring twisted drama mixed with psychological horror inspired by the likes of Serial Experiments Lain, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and the works of David Lynch.
Butterfly//Circuit creates a dark and tense reading experience backed by original art and an originally composed soundtrack that features a variety of music ranging from vibrant techno and laid-back trip-hop to moody post-rock and atmospheric drones.
