“3rd eye” is a 2D horror exploration game starring Koishi Komeiji from the Touhou Project. Players use Koishi’s unique ability, his Third Eye, to navigate and discover secrets within a surreal, reality-defying mental world. This power is essential for progression, allowing you to find hidden objects and access new areas, but it comes at a cost: the more you rely on the Third Eye, the more bloodshot it becomes. To prevent it from turning completely red, you must control her condition using eye drops, adding a layer of tension to your journey. The narrative follows Koishi, a girl who fears her ability to read minds and has lived most of her life in isolation, locked in her room. One night, she wakes up in an unknown place, setting off a chain of events that will change her life forever. Throughout her exploration, she will encounter a diverse cast of characters, including Koishi’s estranged sister, Satori Komeiji, who avoids people and lives among animals, as well as several other figures: Rabbit Girl, a girl burdened by a despised job, and Reisen Udongein Inaba, a mature woman who provides medicine. The game world encompasses multiple different locations, such as the bustling park full of friends and merchants, the serene, snowy Snowfield where treasures wait to be discovered, the contemplative Bamboo Thicket that offers only emptiness, and the Mansion, Koishi’s home, where family interactions take place under important rules.
