About the game
Wizard Warfare is a fantasy-themed, 4X-style turn-based strategy game with a layer of strategic empire management backed by a detailed layer of tactical battle simulation. It is a game of exploration, conquest and magic.
Wizard Warfare's focus is on a “retro” graphical style along with deep, complex gameplay mechanics and heavy use of random/procedural generation to ensure extensive replayability. The objective of the game is to defeat all enemy Wizards. Each wizard must settle down and grow cities, build armies, hire spellcasters, research spells, and wage war until only one wizard is left standing!
Wizard Warfare consists of a strategic level (the world map) and a tactical level (the battle map). Exploration, expansion, production, research and city management occur on the World Map, while battles are simulated on the Battle Map.
Wizard Warfare focuses heavily on replayability. Maps are randomly generated from a variety of configurations, allowing for a unique experience in each match. If you find a random map you like, you can easily regenerate it from the same initial setup and random “seed” to use in future games.
With three different magical schools, five different magical paths, and over 200 fantasy-themed units, Wizard Warfare offers a wide variety of strategic and tactical options. Playing as a Holy mage will be a very different experience than playing as a Death mage!
The world of Wizard Warfare is hostile, with enemy wizards, neutral cities, and rampaging monsters beyond your borders. As a mage, you start out weak, with a single city, a small military force, a few explorers, and very little research. Choosing priorities wisely is essential.
Focusing on exploration can provide crucial information about enemy strengths and weaknesses, giving early warning of attacks or revealing lucrative monster lairs to capture. Focusing on magic and research leads to more powerful magic spells that can overwhelm your enemies. Focusing on economic expansion can lead to large empires supporting massive armies in the late game. Focusing on early military expansion may surprise enemies if their attention is elsewhere, but be careful not to overextend yourself!
No strategy guarantees that you will always win in Wizard Warfare. It is a game that requires careful planning, strategic thinking and adaptability. Are you ready to become the ultimate magician and conquer the world?
